Chanderi cotton saree fabric is light in weight and comes with a glossy transparency blended in with a sheer texture. The name of this fabric originated from a small place named ‘Chanderi’ in Madhya Pradesh.
Hence, you can state that the Chanderi saree origin is recorded back in the 13th century when it is said to have been weaved for the first time during the Mughal period. By the 19th century, the Chanderi fabric was compared to the finest Muslin fabrics that came from Dhaka, which is today referred to as Bangladesh.

For weaving a Chanderi saree, the cotton will be used as a weft yarn, whereas the silk will be used as the warp yarn. The silk used in the process is so fine that there comes the need for placing trays that are filled with water underneath them to make the gossamer strand.

- We source the raw material from the most reliable and authentic resources.
- The material will then be taken for the dyeing process, which takes at least an hour.
- Warping is the next step in the saree-making process.
- The warp will then be moved through the reed, which takes around three to four days.
- Then, the pallav or pallu will be designed, which will take days, depending on the design complexity.
